FOREIGN MISSIONS
Although we receive invitations from pastors in various countries, most of our Foreign
Mission work is done in West Africa. What Hatcher Hallow leaders say about Foreign
Missions Work: the first thing we can say is, God has always been faithful
to us. We have flown thousands of miles by air. We have traveled hundreds of
miles by road, over a period of 20 years, and all without one accident.
Evangelist Hatcher first went to West Africa in the early 1980's as a Foreign
Service worker with the Department of State. It was God's plan all along for her to
work as a Missionary on the Foreign Mission field. Sister Hatcher reports that
she had seen a Vision of God's plan for her overseas work in a dream around
1972 or so, some eight years before her first trip overseas. She was sure that
It was God who opened the door for her to go overseas, and God alone.
During the day, and often late into the evening, she worked at the American
Embassies, then during evenings and weekends, she worked in
Ministry.
From South America, to North Africa, Sister Hatcher has preached the
gospel of Jesus Christ. She has led countless souls to Christ, both young and old,
men and women. She has seen people pulled from the hands of death, and many
delivered from the hand of the Enemy.
TESTIMONY FROM SIERRA LEONE, WEST AFRICA:
Sister Hatcher, Paul Koduah, Mary Mansaray, Madina, Sister Hannah and others on the
West African team has been working to set up two Revivals in Africa; one in Guinea, West
Africa, the other in Sierra Leone, West Africa. The team had gotten the Revival
site for Guinea set up in Conakry, Guinea. Sister Hatcher said good bye to Mary in
Guinea and departed for Sierra Leone to set up the second Revival. She needed to
speak with Pastor Jalloh, and arrange a meeting place for the Sierra Leone meeting.
Her tour of duty with the American Embassy, had ended in Guniea, but she would conduct
the two Revivals before she left for the United States. Missionary Dorothy Hampton, from
Las Vegas, Nevada had agreed to meet her in Guinea and work with her in both Revivals.
Sister Hatcher would join a collective taxie from Guinea to Sierra Leone; spend a few
days with Pastor and Sister Jalloh, set up the Revival and return to Guniea.
When Sister Hatcher arrived in Sierra Leone, after a long 8-hour vehicle trip, she found
that Pastor Jalloh had left that morning from Freetown, Sierra Leone for Guinea.
They must have crossed on the road! "My God!" Sister Hatcher, thought. She decided
she would wait a few days, in hopes that Pastor Jalloh would return, and they would finally
meet...
It was the same evening she had arrived in Freetown, S.L. She was exhausted, hungry,
and somewhat fustrated. Sister Hatcher was just up from a well-need nap, and a fairly large
meal, when Sister Jalloh came in the room to speal to her..... "There is a neighbor who is
very ill. We are not expecting her to live through the night!" Sister Jalloh said. "Would you
please come and pray for her?!!" The look on Sister Jalloh's face said it was serious.
All Sister Hatcher really felt like doing was going back to sleep, but of course she would go
and pray for the wowan, who we shall call "Faith". When Sister Hatcher arrived at the woman's
home, she found many women there, sitting with her -- wait for her time to expire. The woman
was very ill, and not talking at all. When Sister Hatcher walked in, there were no introductions
made. All eyes turned to her. Without a word she walked over to the bed -- looking down on
the woman, she started to pray...."Death, I bind you in the name of Jesus! I command you to
loose your holt on this woman and go, in Jesus name!" Sister Hatcher then asked
a few questions about the sickness. It seemed that the woman had had a still-born baby,
which almost killed her.
The next morning, however, she was up -- walking around, talking, and praising God! The word
was out in the Village. Sister Hatcher had prayed for the woman and she had recovered. Sister
Jalloh came to Sister Hatcher the next day... "There is another woman, who lives up the hill,
she is also dying! Please come and pray for her!" From what we could understand,
Sister Hatcher was not comfortable with this fame which seem to be brewing in the Village, about
her power.. She knew she had "no power", except from the Lord. it was the Lord Jesus, and Him
only who could heal. Nevertheless, she followed Sister Jalloh up a hill, which seemed more like
a mountain. After about 30 minutes of walking, they arrived at the woman's home, let's call her
Fatima. She was apparently dying from cancer. She had a tumer in her stomach the size of a
beach ball. She appeared to weigh about 90 pounds. Her eyes were sitting back in her head.
She was so small and frail. Sister Hatcher was really worried about her, but she pressed on.
Sister Jalloh introduced Sister Hatcher to the family, who were sitting in the living room as entered
the house. The woman was in bed, in the bedroom next to the living room. Sister Jalloh
introduced Sister Hatcher to the woman also. "Mrs. Fatima, this is Missionary Hatcher from
the United States," Sister Jalloh. Sister Hatcher nodded her head toward to woman, and the
woman just grunted.
The question that was in Sister Hatcher's mind was: "What can I say to God about
this woman? Truly she needs miracle," she thought. But as Sister Hatcher started to pray for her,
she was shocked when the Lord interrupted her prayer. "Lord," she said. "Please heal this ....."
The Lord stopped Sister Hatcher in the middle of the sentence. "Don't pray that prayer!" the Lord said.
Sister Hatcher says she froze for a second or two. "What then do you want me say," she asked the Lord. "Introduce her to me," was the Lord's reply. And that is exactly what she did. "Mrs. Fatima,
if you die tonight, where will you go?" asked Sister Hatcher to the woman. "To hell!" said
the woman. Of all the many years Sister Hatcher had been ministering to people,
she couldn't remember ever hearing someone answer that question, so quickly, and
so clear. Then Sister Hatcher asked her another question: "What have you been doing all your life?"
Mrs. Fatima answered, "I've been in the Catholic Church!" She seemed to have been in her 50's.
She had been a member of the Catholic Church for some time, but had never committed her life to
Christ. Sister Hatcher then asked her: "Do you believe in Jesus? Do you believe that He came to
this earth and died on the cross for your sins? That He rose from the dead on the third day with all
power in His hands?" Mrs. Fatima answered "Yes!" to all questions. Then Sister Hatcher led her
in the sinner's prayer. "Are you willing to ask the Lord to forgive you for all your sins, and come into
your heart and save you?" Again she answered "Yes!" At that point, a smile radiated from her face,
that could only have come from heaven. She knew she was saved. All was well in her life.
The next thing that happened was just as strange as the rest of that afternoon; this little frail woman,
with this beach-ball in her stomach, suddenly got up off the bed, and without a word, walked across
the room. Sister Hatcher watched in amazement, wondering "what is she doing?" She walked over
to the corner of this rather large room, and picked up the BROOM which was sitting there up against
the wall, and started sweeping an apparently clean floor. Sister Hatcher watched for a while, then she
said to Sister Fatima: "I'm going now..." Sister Fatima looked up for a second, still smiling, and
knoded "O.K." but continued to sweep the room, and in fact, she followed Sister Hatcher to the
living room, and on to the front door, still sweeping.
These photos ARE NOT Fatima, but are similar to had she lived.
About three weeks later, Sister Fatima went home to be with the Lord. Amen!
These are the testimonies which make flying for thousands of miles, and sleeping on uncomfortable
beds, all worth while.
MINISTRY in Guinea, West Africa:
Baptism in Guinea West Africa, approximately June 1987
Five souls were baptized from the Weekly Bible Study
Sister Hatcher held at her home, for almost two years,
from 1985 - 1987,
Baptism in North Africa. Not at liberty to tell you which country, since it is against the
law. This baptism took place in the 1980's. We have exciting testimonies about those
that were saved and baptized in the name of the Lord.
Ministry in Martinque, French West Indies
Rev. Oats, Kevin, my son, and I, Sister Hatcher worked on the meetings in Martinque,
in 1980. In this photo Rev. Oats, preaches on a local Christian Radio station in
Martinque. Message was translated from English to French.
During this visit, we also ministered in Barbados, West Indies where we ministered
under the tent.
Missionary trip to Nigeria, West Africa:
We have taken several trips to Nigeria, West Africa, effective this writing 2010. However, we will share
with our viewers, the trip which took place in 1996. It was Sister Hatcher's first trip to Nigeria. It seemed as though her life depended on whether she reached Nigeria at that time or not. Pastor Johnny Johnson, who
was the Pastor of the Youth for Christ Outreach International Ministry, was her primary contact. Sister Hatcher had
flown into Accra, Ghana, West Africa, and conducted a one-week's Crusade. She had preached in an open-air
meeting where many souls were blessed. The Saints were encouraged, and the children in particular where excited to be in the meeting in Ghana.
We arrived in Aba, Nigeria, under strange circumstances. Sister Faith with whom Sister Hatcher lived with in
Ghana, W. Africa, both prayed, and went to the Nigerian Embassy to seek a Visa for Sister Hatcher to enter
Nigeria. The Counselor Officer first turned her down for the Visa, and asked Sister Hatcher, WHY she
wanted to go to Nigeria. The battle raged for hours. Sister Hatcher contacted Pastor Johnny, and explained the
situation. We will say at this point, that there was never a point where Sister Hatcher, and Sister Faith, gave up on the Mission to Nigeria. They never waivered on whether or not God was going to open the door for Sister Hatcher to enter into that country.
Sister Faith and Sister Hatcher went and sat in the Nigerian Embassy, located in Ghana, W. Africa. The sat for several Hours. They heard from the Assistant to the Counselor for Nigeria, named Godwin. The Assistant came out and give Sister Hatcher and Sister Faith a message from the Counselor. "He was not going to grant the Visa to Sister Hatcher." But the two sisters didn't leave. They continued to sat in the waiting room at the Nigeria Embassy
and discussed and prayed over the situation. They called the Counselor Office, who was then our of his office. They tracked him down. They were told that he was in the Ambassador's office. They waited. Finally, they Assitance came out and said that the Counselor had agreed to see the two women. They were led to the Counselor's office
by his Assistant, and left in his office alone. While they sat there, Sister Faith said to Sister Hatcher.....
"Let's pray!" Sister Hatcher admits that she thought Sister Faith meant they would bow their heads, and
pray a minute, but instead, Sister Faith asked that they "get down on their knees and pray over the situation."
Sister Hatcher remembers that she spent most of that prayer time, praying that no one came into the office and
caught them down on their knees in the Counselor's office. As soon as they got up off their knees, in walked the
Counselor.
Sister Hatcher challenged the Counselor with this statement: "Aren't you a Christian?" For a moment, He
was stunded by the question, but he came back with a statement about the U.S. Government not issuing Visa's for
Nigerian citizens. Sister Hatcher didn't have much to say about that, because it was mostly true. It was difficult for Nigerians to get Visas into the United States. But Sister Hatcher pleaded with the Counselor "not" to hold her responsible for the action of the U.S. Government. The Counselor took Sister Hatcher's passport from his desk, opened the passport, and inside he stamped "Permission Granted" to enter Nigeria. Sister Hatcher and Sister Faith left the office rejoycing.
In the meanwhile, Pastor Johnny had left Aba, Nigeria for Accra, Ghana, by Bus. He and Sister Hatcher would
crossed on the road. What a disaster. Sister Hatcher and the Other Saints in Nigeria, so sorry for Brother Johnny. When Sister Hatcher called to tell him that she had gotten the Visa, he had already left for Ghana. Inspite of that
news, Sister Hatcher took off for Aba, Nigeria. Pastor Johnny arrived back in Aba, a couple days after Sister Hatcher arrived.
About the meetings in Nigeria. From Sister Hatcher's and Pastor Johnny's prospective, they were great!
Sister Hatcher, Pastor Johnny, Pastor Johnny's wife, the Rev Mrs Ruth Johnny Johnson,
Rev B.U. Onwuka, Pastor God's Will Chukwuma, and the Youth for Christ team, prayed, preached,
fasted, and prayed some more, to see souls saved, and the Saints blessed. As always, God was faithful.
Souls were added to the Kingdom of God.
On the very first week, in Nigeria, March 1996, we ministered at "Time is Short Ministry, on Okigwe Road, in Aba, Nigeria. In that meeting, one night in particular, an anointing came to pray for people in business. That was an exciting time for all! God left a special blessing behind for Saints' businesses to prosper.
Later in March, 1996, we travelled to the Nigeria Theological Semiary, Bible College, in Ubaha Nsulu, also in Abia State Nigeria. Sister Hatcher spoke words of encouragement to the brothers in the College, as they prepared themselves
to go into full-time ministry. It is now time to go back to Ubaha Nsulu for a visit to determine how God has used the brethern there.
On that following Sunday, Sister Hatcher preached at True Assemblies of God Church, in Asaokpoaja, then pastored by Pastor Johnny Johnson. Pastor Johnny, and Sister Ruth, have since gone into to full-time Evangelism, travelling from one Country to another in West Africa, True Assemblies of God Church, is now called Christ the Ark of Salvation.
As always, God left a place in the time of ministre for the children of Nigeria, at True Assemblies of God Church at Ulasi Road, in Aba, Nigeria. The children are always so happy to receive God's servants. Before leaving the United States, Sister Hatcher had collected gifts for the children of Africa, such as candy, gum, socks, toys, school supplies, or whatever she could lay her hands on. However, at this writing, in the year 2010, it is almost impossible to take gifts to Africa because of the restrictions weight, and items on various airlines.
The evangelistic, Sister Hatcher, Brother Johnny, Pastor Godswill, and others travelled to Port Harcourt, Rivers State, where they taught the children the Word of God, and preached the to the Adults. They also shared gifts with the children. Sister Hatcher remembers in particular bringing school supplies to the children. That was particularly appreciated by the 5th and 6th graders. Pastor Johnny says that Sister Hatcher was the First International Evangelist to speak to that group of children. Hatcher Hallow Christian Ministries, started primarily as a Children's Ministry. That is our first love!

Many Christians may see being able to travel overseas as glamous, but it
is hard work, and requires a lot of disciplian, and complete obedience to God.
Sister Hatcher reports that there were times when God discipled her for not been
obedient. So she quickly came to understand the Scripture found in Hebrews 5:8
"Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he
suffered." If one will do God's work, that person must be willing to obey God
without compromise.
